Mugs 21, 7th Grade
Revenge 7 (5 Innings)
A Bunch of Mugs (1-0) started the Spring 2008 KLOB season in grand fashion,
schooling 7th Grade Revenge (0-1) by a 21 to 7 score. The 21 run explosion is the most runs the Mugs have ever scored.
The Mug offense clicked on all cylinders from the first pitch, racking
up a 16 run lead by the third inning. The punishment was provided by all; nearly half of the Mugs turned in perfect
nights at the plate. Leadoff man Brian Pietryka was all four it, going four for four with four runs scored. Speedster
Jimmy Lien had an exceptional night as well, going three for three in two out bases loaded situations. Things went so
well, it seemed as though the only shame the Mugs tasted was Eric Mack biting it at plate. The Revenge tried to reciprocate
the favor, but the Mug defense never let them come close to evening the score. Quick fielding Morgan Pietryka and Lindsay
Packer made sure of that, each turning in key plays to fight off the Revenge attacks.
The Mugs return to action next Thursday when they will attempt to put the
squeeze on Dixon's Cider (0-0-1). Game time is set for 8:10 PM on Utz Field #1 in Patterson Park.
