A Bunch of Mugs (1-0) glazed over the Ham Wallets (0-1), kicking off the
Spring 2009 kickball season with a 10-0 shutout Thursday night at Utz field. There's no sugar coating this one; the
Mugs put forth perhaps the league's most dominating defensive performances of all time.
With strong armed Aaron Ricks on the mound, the Mugs defense came within
one baserunner of a perfect game. No matter how the Hams tried to slice it, the surehands of Mugs like rookie Becky
Oldham and veteran Katie Mills were there, salting away their chances. Offensively, the Mugs were baking hot and the
game quickly spiraled out of control. Looking for a cure, the defenseless Hams were unable to contain the fire and ended
up getting smoked after the recently acquired Cate Hopkin capped a perfect night at the plate with a game ending single.
Be there next week when the Mugs take on 2nd Grade Revenge (0-1).
Game time is set for 6:30 PM on the South Field of Utz.
