Mugs 7, Your Mom 3
For the second consecutive season, A Bunch of Mugs and A Pitcher (1-1)
took advantage of Your Mom (0-2), handing a spanking to the visitors Wednesday night at Latrobe Field. With the victory, the Mugs notched the first win on their belt for the Spring 2005 season.
At the start of the affair, Your Mom came out hot and scored a single
run to position the visitors on top. However, being down did not set well with
the Mugs; they weren’t about to be submissive to Your Mom’s desires. Hoping
to seize control and come from behind on Your Mom, the Mugs used a Jason Budden triple to score three of their first four
kickers. Combining a potent offense and a stifling defense, the Mugs proceeded
to give it to Your Mom from every angle. After going all the way on Your Mom
in the bottom of the third, first baseman Aaron Ricks stated, “Once Your Mom got drunk, scoring was easy. It felt like everyone had a chance.” Born-again rookie
Corie Stover took her turn as well, working her way around the bases to add to the Mugs lead in the bottom of the fourth. Once the Mugs felt they had enough, righty Brian Pietryka put the game on ice. With some stellar defensive plays by gold glovers Morgan Carter and Dave Packer, the
Mugs denied Your Mom from making further advancements. In the end, the Mugs emerged
as winners and Your Mom was looser.
The Mugs hope to keep their magic touch alive next week when they visit
the Federal Hill Houdinis. Game time is set for 8:30 PM on Latrobe's Field 3.
