A Bunch of Mugs and
A Pitcher (1-0-1) picked up their first win of the Spring 2006 season, defeating the home standing Littering and… in
a mercy induced 19
to 4 decision. The Mug win keeps their record spotless in the all
time series against the Litter.
The Mugs had the Litter
in the bag early on in this one. With eight of their first nine kickers reaching
base, a streaking Matt Frese capped the score at 7 for the Mugs in the top of first inning.
The Litter, however, showed it wasn’t time to mess around as they quickly responded with a 3-run bomb, nearly
cutting the lead in half. But slugger Greg Berdzik picked the Mug offense back
up in the second, tacking on one of his two runs on the Mugs way to regaining the difference.
When the elusive Meghan Keating slid under a throw in the third, the Mugs knew they had the Litter cleaned up.
Make sure to be there
next week as the Mugs take on Ball Buster VIII and Naptown Barflies in a rare regular season double header on Latrobe’s
Field 2. The first game will start at 7:20 PM
and be immediately followed by the nightcap at 8:10 PM.
