A Bunch of Mugs (3-0) continued their undefeated season, slapping around
the BOTs (1-2) with a 7 to 2 decision Thursday night at Utz Field. The win was the first time the Mugs high powered
offense has been held to single digits in runs this season.
Coming in, the BOTs needed to bring their A games, D's would not work if
they wanted to upset the heavily favored Mugs. The BOTs got the support they needed early on, coming up big with a home
run in the top of the second to take the lead. But the Mugs quickly put a squeeze on the situation, loading the bases
with singles by veteran stars Matt Frese and Jess Wilson. With two outs and the bases loaded, opportunistic Eric Mack
and Leanne Lauenstein milked the BOTs with strategically placed RKI's to give the Mugs a two run advantage. The BOTs
hopes sagged even further when the elusive Katie Mills used some aggressive base running to set up a Suketu Sonecha two run
RKI a few innings later.
Be there next week when the Mugs look to keep it up with Tulips on Deez
Balls. Game time is set for 7:20 PM on Utz Field 1.
