A
Bunch of Mugs and A Pitcher 17, Red
Rockets 4
On a cool, breezy evening at Latrobe Field, A Bunch of Mugs and A Pitcher (3-1)
grounded the hapless Red Rockets (0-4) in a contest mercifully cut short. The
Mugs turned in yet another astonishing performance, lighting up the night and leaving little debate of the team’s vast
potential.
The visiting Mugs launched themselves on to the scoreboard early and often, posting
fourteen runs in the first three innings of the contest. The daring Suketu Sonecha,
the marvelous Greg Fine, and the dazzling Brian Pietryka ignited the offensive fireworks, reaching base and navigating their
ways home every opportunity they were given. The Mugs defense was right on target
as well, shooting down the Rocket offense whenever a serious attack seemed imminent.
Catcher Sabrina Truesdell intimidated the opposition behind the plate, taking away the short game and forcing the Rocket
kickers to attempt long, imprecise bombs that often fell helplessly into the arms of the Mugs.
Contributing to the effort, rookie Morgan Carter recorded her first putout, snuffing out any hope of a Rocket comeback.
Make sure to be there next week when the high powered Mugs aim to put their best foot
forward again as they host Your Mom at 7:30 PM on Latrobe's Field 4.
