Mugs 10, Ball Busters VI 1
On a warm, humid, Thursday
night, A Bunch of Mugs and A Pitcher (3-0-1) defeated the Ball Busters (1-3), blowing the visitors away with a 10 to 1 decision
at Latrobe Field . The Mugs now find themselves undefeated at the All-Star break
for the second time in club history.
The Mugs jumped on the scoreboard
early, taking advantage of a loose Ball defense that allowed eleven Mug kickers to step to the plate in the opening stanza.
Of those eleven, six ended up scoring, two of which included fan favorites Corie “The Electric” Stover and Matt
“The Tasty” Frese. Unfortunately for the Mugs, their kicking got
cold and the Ball’s defense naturally tightened, refusing to allow such a large load of Mugs shoot across the plate
again. However, the stellar Mug defense diagnosed the Balls with a case of offensile
dysfunction and never allowed it to get hairy. In fact, the lone run came when
a stiff on the Balls creamed one down the left field line for a meaningless romp around the bases. That, however, did not stop the Mugs from giving the Balls a good licking.
Reignited by a Sabrina Truesdell triple, the Mugs offense made the Balls sweat more, plating a pair of runs in two
of the later innings for the final score.
The Mugs will
be back on the attack next week when they face off against the Rat Pack. Game
time is scheduled for 8:30pm on Latrobe’s Field 3.
