Mugs 7, Tulips on Deez

A Bunch of Mugs (4-0-0) stretched their winning streak to four, bringing
Tulips on Deez Balls (0-3-1) to their knees with a 7 to 5 defeat Thursday night at Utz Field. Based on their previous
meetings, the Mugs had reason to believe their opponent would suck, but Deez Balls were well rounded and nearly bounced the
Mugs from the undefeated ranks.
Leading off the game, superstars Brian and Morgan Pietryka scored on a
Mug homer, helping their team roll out to an early 4 to 1 lead. Having been in similar situations many times before,
Deez Balls quickly came back, making things hard for the Mugs when they threatened to take the lead in the top of the fourth.
But slick fielding Matt Frese started a textbook relay that allowed pitcher Pietryka to throw out the potential run at the
plate, successfully deflating the hopes of Deez Balls. In the end, the Mugs emerged victories, giving Deez Balls another
tough one to swallow and a feeling of having blown the job at hand.
