Belligerent Drunken Buffoons 8, Mugs 4 (6 Innings)
In a rematch of last Fall's semi-final playoff matchup, A Bunch of Mugs
(2-2) faced off against their nemisis, The Belligerent Drunken Buffoons (3-1). Thoughts of enacting a bit of revenge
were quickly dashed, however, as the Buffoons spent little time in jest, handily defeating the Mugs 8 to 4 Thursday night
at Utz Field.
Despite the rough loss, the Mugs did manage to entertain the crowd with
some stellar defensive plays. Veteran Robin Lien showed off her range, performing the tip drill to perfection to help
stop an early Buffoon rally. Surehanded Becky Oldham pitched in as well, snaring a couple line drives to help hold the
opponent at bay. Offensively, leadoff man Eric Mack did not fool around, scoring two runs to pace the Mug kickers.
But the runs weren't enough and with darkness setting in, the game was called early ending the Mugs hope of a late comeback.
This upcoming week, the Mugs have a bye on the schedule. But they'll
be in action again the following week when they try to lay one on Our Couches Pull Out... But We Don't. Game time is
set for 6:30 PM on Utz Field 1.
