Mugs 5, Tulips on Deez Balls 2

On chilly autumn eve at Utz Field, A Bunch of Mugs & A Pitcher (5-0) extended their undefeated season, chapping Tulips on Deez Balls (1-4) with a 5 to 2 decision.  Having ten runned Deez Balls in each of their previous two encounters, the Mugs struggled to keep their focus.  But really guys, who doesn’t have trouble concentrating with Tulips on Deez Balls?

Deez Balls were on fire at the start, rolling out to an early one run lead while applying a load of constant pressure.  But the Mug defense spurred further advancement.  Led by the stellar play of soft handed Jeannie Dobruck, the Mugs put the squeeze on Deez Balls and prevented them from getting any for almost the rest of the game.  In the meantime, the Mugs offense was looking to be aroused and speedster Jimmy Lien was the man for the job.  Lien scored the team’s first run on a Mug homer, then followed it up in his next at bat with a game winning two out, two run walk to put Deez Balls on ice.

After finishing up with Tulips on Deez Balls, the Mugs now turn their attention to A Burning Sensation they need to take care of.  If the Mugs handle the Sensation, they will clinch Canton’s #1 playoff seed for the first time in franchise history.  Game time is set for 8:10 PM on Utz Field 3.
