Mugs 4, Multiple Scorgasms 0
With another dominating performance, A Bunch of Mugs (4-1-0) blanked Multiple
Scorgasms (1-3-1) Thursday night at Utz Field. The shutout was the first for the Mugs in just over three seasons.
The Scorgasms acted like a formidable foe, but the Mugs were out to prove
they were faking. Leadoff Brian Pietryka was on his game, notching three of the team’s four runs with a perfect
night at the plate. Slugger Brent Sauer jumped in on the act as well, doubling deep before scoring to take the Scorgasm’s
breath away. Defensively, the Mugs almost always found themselves in the right position, keeping the Scorgasms from
getting too excited. Slick fielding Eric Mack and Matt Frese handled their balls with ease, preventing the Scorgasms
from getting past second base all night.
Next week, the Mugs will take a poke at the Turtleheads in a rematch of
the Fall 2007 KLOB Championship Game. Game time is set for 6:30 PM on Utz Field 1.
