Mugs 20, Burnopp Burnopp
4 (5 Innings)
A Bunch of Mugs (5-0) put down some other players pride, defeating Burnopp
Burnopp (1-4) in a mercy shortened contest, 20 to 4. The win was a record setter, marking the second time the Mugs have
scored 20 or more runs in a game this season.
The Burn offense got off to a hot start, scorching the homestanding Mugs
for three runs in the top of the first. But the Mugs quickly fired back, dousing the Burn hopes when slugger Brent Sauer
cleared the bases with a double in the bottom half of the inning. The fireworks didn't end there; when the smoke cleared,
30 of 38 Mug kickers reached base on the night. The Mug offense sparked the Mug defense. Surehanded Morgan Pietryka
and Leanne Lauenstein turned up the heat with key catches and veterans Brian Pietryka and Aaron Ricks teamed up on a relay
to toast a blazing Burn runner at the plate.
The Mugs will be at it again next week when they play Belligerent Drunken
Buffoons (5-0). Should the Mugs win, they'll clinch their second consecutive division title. Game time is set
for 9 PM on Utz Field 1.
