Mugs  13,  Kobra Kai  3

On a windy Latrobe Field, A Bunch of Mugs and A Pitcher (4-2) decimated Kobra Kai (4-2), avenging an early season loss with a mercy shortened 13 to 3 decision.  With the victory, the Mugs successfully clinched their third straight postseason appearance.

The Mugs, having controversially dropped their first game of the season to the Kai, arrived for the game with revenge on their minds and fire in their eyes.  Wasting no time heating up, the Mugs exploded on the scoreboard in the bottom half of the first, staking an early three run advantage and providing themselves a lead they would make sure not to relinquish.  First baseman Suketu Sonecha-san highlighted the team’s effort, posting a perfect night at the plate and snagging an over the shoulder catch in the swirling wind to help keep the Kai offense sputtering.  Veteran Lanika Hawkins-san contributed as well, tapping a leadoff single that sparked a decisive sixth inning scoring outburst which knocked out the Kai for good.

The Mugs wrap up the regular season next Thursday with a doubleheader at Riverside Park.  The Mugs will hope for a clean sweep as they face off against the Dirty Marlins at 6:30 pm, followed by Oops, I Crapped My Pants in the nightcap at 8:30 pm.  The outcome of these games will determine the Mugs seed in the play-offs.
