Donkeys 7, Mugs 5 (8
Innings)
A Bunch of Mugs
and A Pitcher (4-2) dropped a disappointing 7 to 5 decision to the Donkeys Thursday night at Utz Field. The extra inning loss abruptly ends what had been an impressive four game winning streak for the Mugs.
The Donkeys jumped
on the board in the top of the first, put the blinders on, and never looked back, stubbornly hauling in runs to out pace the
Mugs for the majority of the contest. Fortunately for the Mugs, sure handed Jason
Budden covered the field, pulling in more than his share to keep his struggling team in the game. After horsing around most of the way, the Mugs finally managed to pin the tail on the Donkeys in the bottom
of the seventh. Behind by two, speedsters Jimmy Lien and Morgan Carter led off
the inning with back to back base kicks, eventually feeling their way around the bases to knot the score. But the Donkeys kicked back in the extra frame, ultimately leaving the Mugs on the ass end of a two run
defeat.
