#3 Mugs 13, #11 Tulips
on Deez Balls 2 (5 Innings)
For the second consecutive game, A Bunch of Mugs and A Pitcher
(6-2) licked Tulips On Deez Balls (5-4), beating the visitors 13 to 2 at Utz Field Thursday night. The win is the fourth
consecutive mercy induced victory for the Mugs this season.
Deez Balls began the game on a roll, loading the bases with two outs
in the top of the first. But surehanded Ashley Pietryka quickly deflated their hopes, snagging a line drive to keep
Deez Balls from unloading. In turn, the Mugs offense kicked Deez Balls where it counts. With two on and none out,
slugger Jason Budden pocketed a clean shot to right field, triggering a seven run outburst that likely made Deez Balls feel
not so rosey. Meanwhile, the Mug defense turned stone cold and shrunk any hopes of a Deez Balls comeback. Slick
fielding Katie Mills was all over the field, pulling in several catches to make sure Deez Balls shot blanks the rest of the
night.
The Mugs wrap up the Fall 2006 season next Thursday as they continue
their quest for the KLOB Championship in the City Finals at Riverside Park. The Mugs are locked in as Canton's #3 seed
and will likely play their opening game at 6:30 PM. Stay tuned for details!
